We live in a small town in Ontario.  About 1 1/2 years ago, we moved into what is now our
fourth home.  I don't believe in ghosts and such, but recent events in our new home have had
me wondering.  Since my family moved in (myself, my husband, and three children) we have all
had some very odd experiences.

From the day we took possession of our new home, strange events have been happening.
When I was painting the rooms in the basement (before we actually moved in) I could have
sworn that I could hear someone walking around upstairs, but every time I went up, there was
no one there.  This happened repeatedly.

Immediately after our move into our new house, our dog started barking in the middle of the
night, for no apparent reason.  We would get up, but never find the reason for his behaviour.

A short while after moving in, my daughter told me that during the night, she woke up, and saw
a man standing beside her bed.  She said he wore a wide brimmed hat, his figure was dark
and she couldn't make out any features, but it scared her enough to throw her blankets over
her head, and of course, when she pulled them back down, there was no one there.

Another evening, when my oldest daughter was home alone (she is 22 years old), the dog
started barking from the bottom of the stairs that lead to the bedrooms upstairs.  When he
wouldn't stop, my daughter decided to go upstairs to look around.  When she was half way up
the stairs, she felt a gust of cold air hit her, she was understandably frightened, and didn't go
upstairs to check things out until later.  When she finally did go up, she looked to see if there
were any windows open, or anything unusual that could have caused the dog to bark, or
explain the cold gust, but found nothing.

About a month or so later, I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a figure sitting on the
side of our bed, beside my husband.  Half asleep, it didn't really register, and I closed my eyes
again - but thought to myself - Wait!  I just saw something in our room! - and opened my eyes
again.  I saw a man, in his mid 30's, medium build, brown, full head of hair, sitting on the side
of the bed, looking at my husband, and I got the distinct impression that he was sad.  I can't
explain it, but I did not feel afraid, or upset, in fact, I simply closed my eyes, and fell asleep
again, and didn't realize until the next morning what had happened.

A while later, my 17 year old son told me of a strange occurrence that happened to him, and
his friend one night.  They were playing video games in the family room, when all of a sudden,
the stereo turned itself on, full blast - then turned itself off again.

Just about a month ago, my husband was sleeping in the family room on the couch, which is
right beside our computer.  In the middle of the night, he was awakened by the computer and
printer turning on.  He said he heard the printer printing something, then the computer turned
itself back off.  In the morning, there was nothing on the printer.

Do we have a ghost?  I don't know - I am still skeptical, but I do know one thing for sure - that
something very strange is going on here.  I plan to look into the history of the house to see if
there were any deaths, or traumatic occurrences in the history of the property.

Wish me luck!
