I was about 13 years old.
My friend and I decided to go to the creek. It
had rained the whole week before, so when we got there we were
delighted to see it fast and furious. So we brought with
us a two man raft and I and my friend took it for a ride.
It was alot of fun, but as we went around the
corner we saw that the tunnels that we had to go through
were covered by trees that had fallen down from the storm the
day before. My friend jumped out and disappeared in the
water. I was knocked out and was taken under the trees
and into water. Holding on to a twig under water with the
current in my face, I all of a sudden was starring straight at
myself. My face was bloated and pale, and my eyes more
blue than ever. I looked completely shocked and terrified to
be looking at myself. Next thing I know, (and I'm not
sure how) I was on top of those fallen down trees
that were blocking the tunnel. I was soaked and
scared.
It's been 17 years, but I keep this memory
close because I know that I have experienced something
amazing.
