For what seems to be eons, people have believed in ferocious entities in some form, akin to demons, devils and the like - something to be feared.
You might be pleasantly surprised on our view concerning the "demonic" but only if you are able to keep an open mind - not willing to succumb to a learned, fearful interpretation.

The word "demon" is originally a Greek term which meant a wise, guardian spirit. Today, in religion and parapsychology, "demons" have evolved into representing entities which appear to have malicious intent and are possibly of a non-human origin; differentiated from a spirit which proceeded from a once-living person (a ghost).
If you share that same view about demons, then you also believe that demons are powerful and something humans should not mess with at all. We believe this understanding of what some might call "Satan's minions" to be incorrect, a newer, cultural belief having become popular through religious teaching over the past 2000 years.
The Demonic Mindset
Many believe that demons are of non-human origin; but, there is also the idea that the human psyche is capable of generating a large amount of negativity, degenerating a person's soul to a poor, negative state that is "demon-like." All of us "battle our own demons" in some way. And there is a reason that phrase exists, and so, we view demons and the demonic a bit differently than most. This is especially true as it relates to ghost hunting and investigation. Thus, we know that "thought forms" can be believed to a point that they are allowed to alter one's own reality. Call it human ability to create. Some consider the entertaining of these negative thoughts a form of demon possession, the thoughts, themselves, being the demons. One might also contend that fallen thoughts are also the same as fallen angels (angels representing a higher, more pure thought form, or truth). Though this idea is shocking, the mind is powerful; all that exists (whether in the physical or spiritual), is really comprised of thought in the one great mind that is Spirit.
If one takes the idea of negative thoughts further by recognizing that what a person believes is what he becomes, then it make sense that what people call demons could simply be negative people - especially a negative, disembodied person...a ghost. Ghosts are trapped in darkness, as they are people who have not moved on in life unto light, peace and truth after the death of their physical body. They remain earthbound for various reasons; some good and some not so good. The negativity surrounding some ghosts and their intentions often confuses or tricks people into believing they are demons. But when one studies Jesus casting out devils, it becomes apparent, after studying the original words translated as devil and demon, that he was possibly casting out disembodied people who had chosen to inhabit another's body.
Demon Possession and Influence
Some suppose that the opportunities for a demon to enter our world and wreak havoc is limited. They believe demons to be real non-human entities that must be invited into one's person or life. Once the demon has an "in," it will feed upon the energies expelled by negative emotions such as anxiety, fear and anger, especially those directed at the demon if detected. However, we believe there is a better understanding of what a demon is; a mislabeling and identification of poor human behavior on the other side of the grave. We base this upon study and field research, much of which is found within the book, Helping Ghosts.
